Editor’s Letter May 25 2019

A year ago, my team and I were presented with the gift of life – our baby. Throughout the year, we nurtured it, dressed it up, gave it a name and an identity. With a lack of experience in parenting and a deficiency of resources, manpower and proper guidance, we had to be creative and adaptive in thinking of ways to bring it up. We faced all the challenges that new parents face; rushing to meet feeding times (deadlines), making hard decisions on what it should wear (aesthetics), arduous brainstorming on how its future would be all while not receiving the full trust and belief from your family that you can raise it up.

Ultimately, we beat the odds and today, we all know it as The Origin*.

To say that we have succeeded would be an understatement. Since 2017, readership has increased by almost 6 times. We have achieved so much in such a short span of time and it’s all thanks to the work of our Press team, Joanna, Jacey, Niik and Sam. All the late night design work, rushed preparation for interviews, brooding over Instagram captions and checking of a 101 articles paid off. We did it guys!

Thank you so much for taking time to read our articles and for being a loyal supporter of The Origin*. We could not have made it this far without you 🙂

Needless to say, all roads will come to an end. But it is never the end of the journey…

Today, I am stepping aside to make way for my juniors, who will continue our Origin* legacy and I put my full trust and faith that they will bring Press to greater heights. I am very proud of what they have accomplished thus far and I cannot wait to see what more unique and fun ideas they will come up with next, and I hope that you are excited too.
