Badminton (Boys and Girls)
“Service over; 20-game point-19.” Amidst the cacophony of cheers, monotonous score announcements and nauseous humidity of the crowded competition hall, we could see the sparks of pride beneath the exhausted expressions of our teammates on the court. It had been no easy feat catching up with, and finally overpowering, the opponent. However, such a comeback would have been impossible a year ago. With the nagging stress of JC life coupled with trainings ending as late as 8:30pm, we did falter, but yet, miraculously, we somehow made it through together.
Admittedly, badminton may not be everyone’s forte. Nevertheless, we never fail to put in our best and strive for the better. Fervent passion, unwavering determination and a dauntless fighting spirit are some of the things we value more than anything else. Looking back, it is heart-warming to see how we have all grown in our small little ways; skill-wise and in the meaningful friendships forged. Once we were surrounded by unfamiliar faces, but we can now call them family. We can’t wait for you J1s to join our big family and be a part of the magical moments where we grow and improve as one!
Wednesday (5:30 – 8:00pm)
Friday (5:30 – 8:00pm)
Welcome J1s! Ever wanted to be part of a family in school, ever wanted to be fit and strong, ever wanted to learn how to splash a basketball through the net? Well, we have the three-in-one full package for you! We are Eunoia basketball, a newly established but very deep-rooted squad. We train hard, play hard, and most importantly, go through thick and thin together. We may not be the best out there but we always give our all and people know EJC basketball as the team that never gives up!
In just 3 years, EJ Bball Boys have vastly improved, from a nobody to a Top 6 finisher last year in the second round of the 2019 “A” division National School Games, just one win short of a Final Four appearance. Other notable achievements include the champion of the 2019 Lions Cup. As for EJ Bball Girls, we have not achieved outstanding results just yet, but nonetheless we take pride in how far we have come thus far! Every year, both teams seek to improve but our core focus is always on pushing the best out of everyone. Effort first, results next.
Want to be part of something more and learn something along the way? HESITATE NO MORE and join us on our conquest! EJ ON THREE!!!

Floorball is a fast-paced stick and ball game which requires various qualities to excel in the game, such as teamwork and speed. But more importantly, in our CCA, you’re part of a big family. While training may get tough sometimes, your family members will always be there for you! In our CCA, every member is valued and made sure that they are comfortable. We often make efforts to bond together as one CCA by going for post training dinners or even getting together in the canteen sometimes to chat.
Speaking of post training dinners, as the saying goes, “One for all, all for one”. In Floorball, one’s mala is everyone’s mala during our fun team dinners after training. As much as we are serious when we are training and preparing for competitions, we sure do love a good laugh, always making sure we enjoy ourselves even when we are putting in the work. If you’re looking for a wholesome CCA that pushes you to your limits, Floorball is definitely for you!!
Tuesday (6:00 – 8:00pm)

While the notion of picking up a new sport may sound intimidating, fret not! Experienced or not, take that leap of faith. A typical CCA session consists of warm-ups, drills, games and physical training. With a passionate heart and some effort, you too can become a CHAMPION!
As we gear up towards the A Divisions, training becomes increasingly rigorous. While the journey is far from easy, we can promise you that every mile you run and every game you play will teach you the value of hard work and sheer determination. Thursday (6:00 – 8:00pm)
EJ Netball is a close-knit group of players who have a strong passion for the sport. Being a new junior college, we have only participated in 3 national school games to date. Yet despite our freshness, the strong drive in our pioneering batch saw them through to the semifinals, where they clinched 3rd place nationally. It is with that same drive that we continue to train hard in hopes of raising the bar even further. That being said, EJ Netball is more than just a bunch of players, we are a family and we are there for each other through all aspects of our demanding JC life.
The intensity of our training sessions peaks as we approach seasons, which begin around May, and training sessions are upped from 2 times to 3 times a week while we continue our regular gym schedule.
Other than the national school games, we also participate in netball carnivals like the Daisy Tan Carnival and Pesta Sukan, and have many friendly interactions with other schools to increase our exposure. As the physical demands and requisite skill level for the sport is very high, we are only looking for experienced players, so if you are interested in joining our family do approach any EJ Netballer!
Monday (5:00 – 8:00pm)
Wednesday (4:00 – 7:00pm)
Softball (Boys and Girls)
Hello J1s! On behalf of EJ Softball, we’d like to give all of you a big warm welcome to EJ!
To start off, three words we’d use to describe our CCA are: fun, rewarding and family.
We promise that joining EJ Softball will become one of the best parts of your JC life — Wednesdays and Fridays are the most fun days of our week (not just because batting is the best stress-reliever…) — all of us enjoy training and improving ourselves!
Regardless of whether you’re new to the sport or an experienced player, EJSB prizes growth and good attitude over everything else. Picking up the sport and advancing in it is extremely rewarding, and no matter if we win or lose, we learn from it and become better players.
As J1s last year, though training was tough at times and pushed us to our limits, we got the chance to grow alongside one another and bond as one team. Just like a family, we may have our ups and downs, but at the end of the day, we celebrate each other’s victories and pick each other up if we fall.
All the best for J1, and we hope to see you guys on the field soon!
P.S. Softballs are not very soft.. 😉
Monday (5:00 – 7:30pm)

Squash is a racket and ball sport played by two players in the court, with players taking turns to return the shots in the court. Squash is a game that is fast-paced and exciting as it requires quick reflexes and precise footwork, and has also been crowned as the healthiest sport to play. Although Squash is christened a team sport of seven, during the Nationals, each player plays individually, with five main players and two reserves. Being there for each other during courtplay and physical training has allowed our team to become tightly-knitted.
Each training session is about 2 hours, consisting mainly of physical training, court drills, and courtplay. Although the sport is very tiring as Squash engages your entire body, it is often rewarding to see yourself improve each session. If you believe in pushing yourself to your best and joining a close-knit family, EJ Squash might just be the one for you!
Tuesday (5:00 – 7:00pm)

Eunoia Tennis is our family, our passion. Our hunger to work hard and develop ourselves as one both on and off the court is what makes us a team to look out for.
We gave it our all during the 2019 ‘A’ Divisions and it was truly a season to be proud of, proving our potential as a promising young team.
The boys managed to proceed all the way to the second round, giving it our all even with losses to powerhouses Anglo Chinese Junior College and Hwa Chong Junior College, preventing us from clinching National Top 4.
Our girls team went far as well, emerging as National 3rd runner-up despite the equally intense competition. They fought to the bitter end in a narrow loss to Anglo Chinese Junior College 3-2 in the 3rd-4th placing match.
Off the court, it was also nothing less of eventful as we engaged in many activities such as March Training Camp, CCA VIAs and even a Chinese New Year steamboat amongst many others.
With the desire to improve and potential to achieve, we welcome anyone who’s interested and willing to work together with us to join our family!

Table Tennis (Boys and Girls)
Hi J1s, welcome to EJ! Hope all of you are having fun in Ori! Soon, you will be joining a CCA and meeting new people all over again. With the many choices available here at EJ, you will no doubt have a hard time choosing one. But fret not, because EJ Table Tennis will definitely suit you! From being a family to keeping fit, EJTT will help you grow in many ways.
Here is a quick summary of what you are getting into when you choose EJTT: you will have fun practising with the team; smashing balls and really just letting it all out! There will also be friendly matches within the CCA from time to time for everyone to bond as one EJTT family. Here at EJTT, we learn together, train together and have fun together. Don’t worry if you don’t have any prior experience because your friendly and helpful coaches and seniors will be there to guide you along! If these things appeal to you, why not come to EJTT and give it a shot, we promise you will not regret it :”D
Wednesday (4:00 – 7:00pm)
Friday (3:00 – 6:00pm)
Track and Field
Constituting 3 main event groups – Jumps, Sprints and Distance, we gather under one united banner as Eunoia Track and Field. We are one of the largest Sports CCA in Eunoia, consisting of over 30 members.
Training is generally held twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with sessions lasting from 2 to 3 hours. However, as the competition season nears (usually in March and April), the frequency and intensity of training sessions will definitely increase. There is no doubt that training is tough, but we are tougher. As the saying goes, “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.” As long as you put in enough sweat, blood and tears, you can definitely go somewhere in this sport.
However, Track and Field is not just about tough training. We are made stronger only by forging bonds with others. Our annual track camps facilitate in fostering track spirit, and so does our tradition of holding parties to bade our seniors farewell on their very last day.
Trackers who join us each have their own dreams which they hope to achieve by the end of their journey here. Perhaps that is why Track is considered extremely individualistic. However, we each bring our dreams together, and just like how small flames merge to form a large, blazing fire, a bonfire of dreams is created so that one day, we will emerge victorious together.
Tuesday (5:30- 7:30pm)
Thursday (5:30 – 7:30pm)
Ultimate Frisbee (Boys and Girls)
First things first, EJUT stands for EJ Ultimate Team!
Officially, Ultimate (Frisbee) is a sport traditionally played 7v7 with a mixed gender ratio, meaning both guys and girls play at the same time! The most common way to explain how Ultimate is played would be that it is a mix between Captain’s ball and American football, and played with a frisbee.
However, it is the self-refereed aspect of Ultimate that really makes it a unique sport! All players are expected to abide by the “Spirit of the Game”, which holds every player accountable to displaying the best sportsmanship of an athlete before, during, and after a game.
According to EJ Ultimate though, Ultimate is more than just a game – it is what runs in our blood, as we almost literally eat, speak, and sleep Ultimate everyday. Our official training time is every Tuesday and Thursday, 5pm-730pm! Our main competition, the Inter JCs (IJCs) tourney, lasts only 2 days, which increases the stakes but only drives us to work 200% harder. If you think you are up for pushing yourself and others around you to your limits, then EJUT is the family awaiting you with open arms!
Tuesday (5:00 – 7:30pm)
Thursday (5:00 – 7:00pm)
Eunoia Volleyball is not simply just a CCA, but one big wholesome family! Friendships forged here bond tighter than blood, both on and off the court. Though trainings are both mentally and physically challenging at times, we always pull through with our fair share of laughter and inside jokes! Our perseverance as individuals and as a team sees us through testing periods of time, be it during competition or academic season, shaping our character and attitude, allowing us to take away many lifelong lessons and skills.
Despite the fact that the majority of the girls team do not have past volleyball experiences, we did not simply give up hope, challenging ourselves to fight against schools all over Singapore in the A division competitions. Through sheer grit and determination, we managed to relish in a win against RJ during our final match, concluding our season with the biggest smiles on our faces. I truly believe that if each and every volleyballer inculcates this never-say-die attitude, our team definitely has the potential to go far and achieve goals that were never thought possible.
As for the guys, they too embody the determination and courage of our EJVB team, sweating it out during trainings in order to be in the best form before engaging in competitions. This was further exemplified during their recent A divisions matches, where they played with the powerhouse, ACJC to 5 sets and fought to the end, losing to them just by a margin. Needless to say, the training environment and team culture will really allow one to grow to be a better team player and person as a whole.
If you want to be part of this crazy, fun family that will always have your back and if you want to put your mental and physical abilities to the test, then EJVB will welcome you with open arms! See you at the trials!

Ever wanted to pick up a new instrument? Do not fear, for EJCO is here!
As a growing CCA, EJCO is a CCA welcoming everyone regardless of your musical background or experience in playing in an orchestra. Together with a warm and friendly EXCO supported by a team of passionate teachers, the EJCO experience is something you wouldn’t want to miss! Coming onboard exposes you to an extensive range and variety of performance opportunities, from SYF competitions to inhouse concerts and performances. EJCO is proud to have achieved its first SYF distinction in the 2019 SYF Arts Presentation. That being said, performances are only made perfect through practice. Our trainings are on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 4.30-7.30pm and 3.30-6.30pm respectively – as much as we play hard, we work hard too!
To all ex and current CO players, we always want to recreate the journey of being in an orchestra with our unique CO experience, continuing to nurture the flames of your love and passion for Chinese music. As for our new players, we would love to have you around learning and performing with us, enjoying and joining in the passion we have for this art form.
We can’t wait to see you at CCA soon!

Hi guys! We are EJ Choir!
Though we have only been around for four years, we strive to push for choral excellence but have fun at the same time!
Over the years, we have taken part in many performances. We began our journey with our inaugural concert in 2018 and clinched a Distinction in our first Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation in 2019!
Led by our renowned conductor Ms Lim Ai Hooi, we hope to develop ourselves further in the years to come and find our niche within the choral scene. Last year, we took part in gigs in the off-season such as the National Day performance hosted at Bishan Active park, as well as Christmas carolling at Gardens by the Bay in 2019! Most importantly, our practices and activities are centered around providing a fun and conducive environment for us to enjoy the beauty of music and sharing our melodious voices to the people around us.
Our CCA sessions are on Tuesdays and Fridays from 4.30pm-7.30pm every week, so please sign up for a taster session with us! Do follow our instagram page @ej.choir for more information about us. We hope to see you in EJ Choir!

Hello J1s! Think you’ve got some moves to show off? Join EJDance!
We are the warm, lively and fun-filled second home you’ll need to get through the demands of JC life!! Our training consists of technique, choreography, conditioning and occasional tiktok sessions, held every Tuesday and Wednesday at the performing arts studio (level 1)! Even though gruelling at times, the sense of fulfilment you experience as you train alongside your peers is worth it. Joining EJDance provides you exhilarating opportunities to perform, including SYF, Dance Night and Teacher’s Day! These opportunities allow us to grow as dancers, learning from one another.
Everyone is truly welcome to join despite varying levels of experience or backgrounds!! We believe that everyone deserves a chance to dance, to express themselves and to be vulnerable.
Essentially, EJDance is a safe space for everyone to make mistakes and to help each other up again. Nothing is more unifying than freely moving our bodies to shake off the pressures of life or repeatedly watching your friend ascend five people’s backs and then leap off into the air, into the arms of other teammates. Things like these strengthens our trust and makedances dancers so closely intertwined 🙂 We hope you will participate in our trial classes to get a taste of what EJDance has to offer, and of course join our CCA! See you there!
Tuesday (5:00 – 8:00pm)
Wednesday (5:00 – 8:00pm)
Many think that Drama is solely about acting, but it’s so much more! In Drama, we master the art of story-telling through props-making, directing, and acting. Our CCA sessions begin with vocal warm-ups and focus games which are followed by performance rehearsals or workshops to refine our skills. In the past, we have explored puppetry, script-writing, comedy, technical and physical theatre. Sometimes we play improvising (improv) games to keep us on our toes!
One of our highlights of 2019 was our in-house production, which consisted of 3 sight-specific, self-directed plays. For us, it was an opportunity to try our hand at curating our own work. From handpicking local plays that resonated with us, to designing our own lights, costumes and props, it was a hectic but unforgettable experience. Performing scenes through Singapore’s history allowed us to view familial experiences of various time periods. Looking forward, we will be preparing for SYF in April 2020.
Want to contribute to Eunoia’s art scene? We look out for people who are collaborative, creative and eager to learn. Fret not, you need not be the best of actors. If you’re someone who is open to new challenges and are not afraid to make a fool of yourself, we want you!
Wednesday (4:00 – 7:00pm)
Friday (4:00 – 7:00pm)
Every Wednesday and Thursday, you can expect to hear band members around the school practicing scales, playing out of tune, and stumbling over the same exercises over and over again. Here, in EJC Band, we do our utmost to hit that 40-hours of practice everyday. The grind is unavoidable, but it’s rewarding and gratifying when you finally nail a tricky passage, or just make good music with your friends.
You’ll always have ample opportunities in the limelight with EJC Band. Last year, we played at the University Cultural Centre for College Day, and also collaborated with the Philharmonic Youth Winds to host a concert at the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre. We’re also the only Performing Arts group in EJC with 2 SYF distinctions!
If you’re passionate about music, join EJ Symphonic Band! Music is uplifting and can be a good source of relief from the gruelling and hectic nature of JC life. The many quirky and vibrant personalities of the band never fail to brighten our spirits. Playing in a large ensemble is quite a unique experience, and there’s a certain magical feeling when everyone’s parts fall into place to create a harmonic piece of music. Hope to see you join the family!

Computing and Robotics
Do you want to develop apps like the EJC Orientation App? Or use AI to improve student life? Automation to make a “smart environment”?
EJC Computing and Robotics Club (REC) primarily focuses on three tracks – Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML), Mobile and Web Application Development (M/W Dev) and Internet-of-Things (IoT). Members will have the opportunity to specialize in one of the three tracks under the guidance of their teachers and peers. Towards the end of J1, they will embark on their own self-initiated group projects.
Members will also have the opportunity to participate in competitions such as Young Technopreneurs, or even participate in other competitions outside the scope of our CCA training such as cybersecurity competitions (Cyberthon, Cyberdefenders Discovery Camp), the National Olympiad for Informatics and more.
In REC, you will also get to participate in VIA programmes like Code in the Community or even partner with external organisations to teach coding to the public. In 2019, we partnered with the Chinese Development Assistance Council to teach Scratch programming to primary school students by helping them create games.
Join us if you’re passionate about technology! Experience is not required as we’ll be guiding you along the way!
Wednesday (3:45 – 6:45pm)
Friday (3:15 – 6:15pm)
Do you have an interest in current affairs? Do you like the intellectual challenge of formulating arguments? If so, Eunoia Debate Society (EDS) might be the CCA for you!
During CCA sessions, we discuss and debate a myriad of topics, ranging from politics to metaphysics, such as what exactly makes a sentient being. We cover the different aspects of debate, such as style, content and strategy, and prepare for competitions.
In EDS, we participate in various competitions throughout the year. These competitions involve different formats of debating, like World Schools, Asians and British Parliamentary.
Over the past year, our club has also obtained stellar results in these competitions, where we emerged as the champions in SMU Hammers, Oldham Cup and SMU BP IVs. We also got to the break rounds of many other national competitions – quite a mean feat.
Through other programmes, such as our VIA, in which we taught primary school students about debate, as well as our learning journey to an escape room, EDS also enables you to meet new people and broaden your horizons.
To find out more, do approach any EJ Debater or follow our Instagram at @ejdebate!

Hi J1s!! Hope you guys are adapting well into jc life. We are from the environment club. First and foremost, the days and timings for our CCA is every Wednesday 3:30 to 6:30. We have 2 different sections you can choose from, Farming and Advocacy respectively.
In addition, moving to Bishan means meeting new wild life! From Otters and Oriental Pied hornbills to the common Javan Myna, we hope eunoians will learn how to embrace the nature that is being interwoven with our urban lifestyle. Environment Club aims to help eunoians understand the biodiversity that surrounds them in their daily lives through advocacy with Advocacy. Join our farmers in culturing EJ’s new garden :^) Currently, we are experimenting with hydroponics alongside traditional farming methods. Furthermore, we engage in upcycling activities using bubble tea cups and milk cartons alike! Also, we strive to be the change in which we lead a low carbon footprint lifestyle and reduce waste whenever possible. With this, we want to spread such a lifestyle to the rest of the community!!
Wednesday (4:00 – 6:00pm)
Welcome to Library Club! The name may not suggest much, but if you have been to the new campus library, you would have noticed the intricate designs, the well thought out layouts and the well-kept state of the library. We, as the library members, pride ourselves in planning the design of the library, and, over the years, maintaining and updating the library.
As librarians, we (fortunately) do not take part in shelving or stock taking often; instead what we do each CCA session is to plan events for the library and the school and look into ways to improve our library. It is our duty to consider student needs and take action, and this is very important as the library is a place everyone goes to study or to relax. CCA is held every Friday, from 2.30pm-5.30pm at various locations. Being a part of Library Club is not only fulfilling, you can also contribute back to the school community and we hope that you would consider us 😀
Wednesday (4:00 – 6:00pm)
Friday (3:00 – 5:30pm)
You might have seen our media members walking around, working hard to capture your first
few beautiful memories in Eunoia during Orientation. However, our Media family is much more than the people you see covering school events – Media is made up of members who are passionate about design, AV (audio-visual), photography and videography. There is a place for anyone who is committed and dedicated to learn and contribute. Thus, we welcome anyone with or without experience because we are all here to develop our skills together!
Our members also pay it forward, utilising this passion and striving for excellence in school, in volunteer work, as well as in competitions such as the Canon Photo Marathon. CCA trainings take place every Wednesday (4pm-6pm) and Friday (3pm-5pm). Our members also get to spend some time outside of training to cover school events when needed. Our CCA is constantly discovering, exploring and improving ourselves. We would love to have YOU on this journey with us and we look forward to seeing you join our Media family soon!
Wednesday (4:00 – 6:00pm)
Friday (3:00 – 6:00pm)
Outdoor Adventure Club (ODAC) is a student-led CCA with a vision to nurture proficient leaders of character.
Rock climbing, dragon boating, fire starting, pioneering and outdoor cooking are just some of the many activities that we do in ODAC. As a CCA, we have also organised the Spartan Race for J2s, participated in the National Vertical Marathon and took part in the EW Barker Competition.
ODAC is a supportive family of adventurers, ready to try anything new together. Give yourself a chance to push beyond your limits, and you will discover not only more about yourself, but have a group of people you can call family!
Most importantly, we are not looking for the fittest, or the most skilled. We are looking for those who are thrill-seekers, those who will go the extra mile for others, and those who strive for excellence in everything they do.
Do not expect monotonous trainings, but do expect tough yet rewarding outdoor activities and memorable bonding sessions. Do not just make acquaintances, make life-long friends. Do not just push yourself, but also be lifted up by everyone else around you. One ODAC, One family!
So, if you are up for the challenge, we welcome you!

Passion. Heart. Unity. The 3 words that embody the Service Learning Club.
The Service Learning Club brings together people with the heart to serve, to lend a helping
hand to those in need in our society. We serve our community by engaging beneficiaries in self-initiated long term projects that last throughout our JC journey. Currently, our club has 5 areas of service, namely animal welfare, the disabled, the elderly, children from low-income families, and mental health.
For participating in Citi-YMCA Youth For Causes (YFC) Challenge, in which we advocated mental health, we were awarded the Merit Award. We worked with the Singapore Association for Mental Health, and even organised a talk in school with guest speakers (one of whom was Narelle Kheng)! If you have the heart to serve, the courage the lead, and love for the greater community, please join us!
Wednesday (3:30 – 6:00pm)
Friday (3:30- 6:30pm)
We are a skilled, mindful, and creative group that adds vibrancy and colour to the world around us. We strive to instill in our members open, empathetic hearts and the spirit of an inquisitive learner. We believe that art holds value beyond recreation; it serves as a medium through which discourse and innovation are sparked, and culture and individuality appreciated.
In 2019, we honed our skills through an exploration of a multitude of art mediums, including stop-motion animation, paper quilling and decoupage. We also contributed to our school and community by facilitating art events such as the Humanities and Aesthetics Week and PAssionArts Festival.
Incoming members can look forward to a compassionate environment and opportunities to take on leadership roles and peer teaching, where members volunteer to share their special skills with the CCA. In addition, members can represent EJVA by participating in various art competitions.
We welcome people with a positive disposition and a passionate outlook on arts and crafts! Together as a CCA, we will strive to bring art to Eunoia and beyond!
Wednesday (3:30 – 6:00pm)
Friday (If Necessary)
Friday optional sessions should members wish to work on their art

Student Council is the heart of our school. Beyond event planning, we are the champions for our peers and the ones who create those magical moments that define our Eunoian identity.
Being a counsellor requires both brains and brawn and we welcome you even if you don’t have any prior experience!
Each week, we hold 1-2 official general meetings to come together and create the next big thing. We have 6 standing (permanent) committees, namely the Presidents, Communications, Culture, Secretariat, Welfare and House, of one of which you will be part of.
On top of that, you will have the chance to lead many initiatives in working committees, creating magic in milestone school events such as Euphoria, Orientation and Prom. Joining council will definitely allow you to experience all aspects of leading an initiative, from some level of sports (running about during events), performing arts (all that dancing and singing during school events), and clubs (producing videos and publicity campaigns).
Do councillors work hard? Of course we do. Is it rewarding? Definitely. If you think you have the heart to serve and a burning passion for our school and what it can become, join the council family.
Wednesday (4:00 – 6:00pm)
Friday (3:00 – 5:00pm)
And last but definitely not least is the CCA bringing to you this article, EJC Press!
Do you have a passion for writing, interviewing, designing or simply, expressing your views? EJC Press may just be the CCA for you!
EJC Press is the official student press and we run a website called The Origin*, where we write anything ranging from opinion pieces to school event coverage and even food reviews (do check out our website here). Although we are green as a CCA, rest assured that you will have many opportunities to learn new skills and let your creativity flow. Here at EJC Press, you will learn how to articulate yourself clearly and creatively, gain new perspectives and most importantly, contribute to school culture through event reporting!
We spend our CCA sessions discussing article ideas and improving our skills as writers and designers through peer teaching. We wish you all the best in your CCA trials and we look forward to you joining our EJC Press family! Also, do follow us on Instagram @ej.origin for more article updates!
Every Wednesday (4:00 – 6:00pm)
The Eunoia Strings, a student-initiated interest group, was set up by a group of passionate students who share a common interest in music-making in a chamber group comprising of stringed instruments. Since it started off in the beginning of 2019, the group has performed for various college events, including the school’s College Day pre-concert event, as well as the Student Investiture. Moving forward, the group wishes to continue performing together, to share their love for music with the rest of the Eunoian community.

The Eunoia Strategic Affairs Society is a Student-initiated Interest Group which focuses on self-development through experiencing Model United Nations (MUN) conferences. These conferences are academic simulations of the United Nations that allow students to represent a country and uphold its interests on the world stage. Through this, students have the opportunity to develop practical skills such as argumentation, lobbying, presentation, research and public speaking that help prepare them for life at higher institutions of learning and beyond.
Though this has invoked comparisons with Debate Club, this club offers a different experience. In MUNs, one will need to make acceptable compromises in order to successfully pass their solution in council. In an E-SAS session, members can expect to be taught the aforementioned skills and have thoughtful discussions on engaging global issues. If you have an interest in current affairs, or a desire to improve your public speaking skills, why not join E-SAS? Our sessions are half that of a normal CCA, held only once every alternate week!
Hi, we are EJ Street Dance (Elysium) and we do what you think we do – dance! Apart from just the mundane drills, we have fun as a team learning from one another during practices, growing not only in technique but also in character. As dancers, we know the difficulties of starting from scratch even if you are 17. Elysium is welcoming everyone, regardless of your dance background, to join us – we are extremely beginner-friendly! In 2020, we have a whole lot of events lined up for you! Apart from our usual trainings, we have had performance opportunities in 2019 such as College Day and Teachers’ Day, partaking in the recent RE:MIX The Dance competition in January. As a team, we value team-bonding and growth as a group, and that is why you will never have to worry about being left behind in Street!
Monday (5:00 – 7:00pm)
During Road Run 2019, the school released wristbands with letters for each of Eunoia’s 5 houses, along with a limited-edition “N-Band”. Some Eunoians (us) thought that it would be funny to name their band after school merchandise, and the rest is history.
The N-Band is the school’s very own student-initiated Rock Band. It is home to a bunch of wholesome and fun-loving individuals with a deep passion for rock music. Flexibility distinguishes us from other performing arts; We pick the songs we want to play, arrange the instrumentation as necessary, and take breaks/goof around when we want to.
Despite only being founded last year, the N-Band has already built an extensive portfolio of gigs and performances. Some notable ones include playing for College Day, Investiture, Fiesta, Teacher’s Day and Euphoria. We even participated in the SYF Evolution! contest, winning an audience choice award, and also recorded a rock rendition of the school song at YST Conservatory! You always have more than enough time in the spotlight if you join the band.
You can look out for our performances throughout the year, and we hope to see you there!
Who knows? One day, it might be you on the stage!
